Design tool for heating and hot water systems with a wider range of functions
The FALTINtool 7.0 Professional now makes the design of heating systems with hot water supply even easier, as varmeco has improved and completely reprogrammed the tool together with its partner Solar-Computer. As before, the IT tool calculates heat demand, heating load and storage volumes for residential and non-residential buildings in accordance with DIN EN 12381-3 using the summation curve method - only more accurately and conveniently than before. Planning reliability is ensured by the fact that not only demand profiles according to the standard or master data can be used, but also measured values. The FALTINtool reads in measured values and generates the demand curve from them. Those who do not have measurements from the existing building or from similarly used properties benefit from profiles that varmeco has generated on the basis of real measured values or comparative values from experience.
Planners can precisely dimension the system components using the cumulative characteristic curve method, which was developed by thermodynamics professor Hans Faltin. Users can enter the system data freely, with support from a system configurator. Suitable heat generators can be taken into account thanks to the VDI 3805 interface. The design takes into account both the time delay of the heat supply by the respective sources and the thermal losses of the storage tanks and pipe network. Finally, varmeco products suitable for the project can be selected in the program.
Oversizing fresh water heating or hot water systems - as is the case when designing according to DIN 4708 - can be easily avoided with FALTINtool 7.0 Professional, says varmeco Managing Director Thomas Zimpel. „Hot water preparation is becoming increasingly important in the design, because as the energy efficiency of buildings increases, so does the proportion of hot water demand in the total heat demand,“ he explains.
